Fast friend不是快朋友，Fast talk不是說話很快(一)
Megan的外籍同事剛剛和客戶開完會，從會議室走出來，Megan問她會議如何，同事說：
This meeting was going nowhere fast.
Megan覺得很納悶，「去哪都不快」？這是什麼意思？會議中要去哪兒？
原來go nowhere fast不是「去哪都不快」，fast這個字，有很多意思，也非常容易誤解，一起來看看。
1、This meeting was going nowhere fast.
（錯）會議到哪兒都不快。
（對）會議完全沒有進展。
Go nowhere fast字面上的意思是「到哪裡也快不了」，英文字典的解釋是：
「Completely fail to achieve something」
什麼事都完成不了，經常用來指「做了很多工作，但是最終一無所獲」。
★ This meeting is going nowhere fast. We've been here for over two hours now and haven't even been able to come up with a name for our product！
這會議沒有進展，我們已經開了兩小時，連產品的名字都還沒想出來。
2、Ignore his fast talk.
（錯）別管他講話太快。
（對）別聽他的花言巧語。
Fast talk表面上看來是「講話很快」，其實是指人講話很快、語言浮誇，不太實在。
經常這樣講話的人，我們可以說他是fast talker。而fast talk更常用來當動詞：
★ He fast-talked his way into a powerful job.
他靠誇誇其談謀了個要職。
