2、I don't mean maybe！
（錯）我不是不確定。
（對）我可不是開玩笑。／我是認真的。
Maybe既是給人一種不確定、不認真的感覺，I don't mean maybe，就是「我不是開玩笑、我是認真的」。
這句話常常帶有一些威脅語氣，可以想像是大人板著臉，對小孩說話：
★ I told you to go clean your room, and I don't mean maybe！
我叫你打掃自己的房間，不是開玩笑喔！
3、Maybe another time. 下一次吧。
（錯）接受。
（對）拒絕。
這是老外委婉拒絕時用的句子，也可以用「Maybe some other time.」，意思一樣。
A：「Would you like to go out for dinner tonight？」
要不要一起晚餐？
B：「Sorry, maybe another time. I have a lot of work I need to catch up on.」
對不起，下一次吧，我有很多工作要趕。
這個句子還可以用在回應對方的拒絕，讓對方不會那麼尷尬。
A：「I wish I could come to your house for dinner, but I told my sister I would babysit for her.」
我希望能去你家晚餐，但我答應姐姐要幫她照顧小孩。
B：「That's all right, maybe some other time.」
沒關係，下一次吧。
