Run a tab，和跑步沒有關係！(一)
Steve和外籍客戶吃飯，今年幾個案子都做得很成功，客戶很開心。
吃完飯，客戶說：「Let me pick up the tab.」。
Steve以為客戶要去拿什麼，就看到客戶拿起帳單，招呼服務員來結帳。
原來Pick up the tab是指「買單、付帳」。
1、Let me pick up the tab.
（錯）讓我去拿標籤。
（對）我來買單。
Tab這個字大家應該不陌生，電腦鍵盤上就有一個按鍵叫tab，它的原意是小紙片、標籤，我們在歸檔文件時，會做一些小標籤貼在檔案夾上，方便找得到，那個標籤就叫tab。
★ Make a file folder for these documents and write "finance" on the tab.
把這些文件歸檔，在標籤上寫明「財務」字樣。
Tab也可以引為「帳單」，pick up the tab字面意思是把帳單拿走，意思就是「去付帳」。
★ The company picked up the tab for our trip.
公司為我們支付了旅行開支。
Pick up the tab除了指具體的帳單，也可以指抽象的「承擔責任」：
★ Who's gonna pick up the tab for this mess？
搞到這樣一團亂，這損失該由誰來承擔？
